Forms and Graphics Development
Standards and Procedures: The document describes Forms & Graphics Development processes on submitting projects, print requests, form design standards, Pipeline Project standards, GenTax standards and etc.
Forms, Publications, and Graphics Development Policy: The policy explains which project submissions go through Forms & Graphics Development.
Form Analysis: Form Analysis helps determine if a form should exist, and if so, the purpose and use of the form. Since each form is unique, the actual detail of the analysis will vary for each form.
Life Cycle of a Form: The information presented in this paper is a model - a means of tracking a form through the information system. The life cycle concept is easier and more thorough to construct and understand than most flow charts. This concept may be used to review the effectiveness of an existing form or can be used to create new forms. It was developed to assure that all is right before a new form is installed into a system.
Selecting Information Elements of a Form: What the forms industry lacks are standards for the selection of information being used on a form. If information is inaccurate or unneeded, the organization will continue to pay for the processing regardless of a lack of value or benefit. The purpose of this paper is to present a traditional look at the industry concept of information, informational model for changing data to information, framework for measuring cost of information elements and a method for selection of information elements.
Visual Communication for Form Design: This is the process by which we acquire, store, process and use information. Because we place a certain value to visuals it is important to understand the cognitive values we normally placed on text and graphics. This helps us understand why the established forms design principles work and can help us utilize them properly in our form designs. This applies to both paper and electronic form designs.
