The Pierce Facility exterior entrances are controlled by the Colorado State Patrol. In order to enter the building, you must enter your individually assigned 6-digit code into the keypad boxes located at the exterior doors (Entrance-A (public & employees), Entrance-B (public & employees), South Entrance (employees only), East Entrance (employees only) or the Dock Entrance (employees only). This code is for the exterior doors only and will not grant access to any internal doors.
Employees whose primary worksite is Pierce, (meaning you have a permanent/dedicated space at Pierce and are there at least 3 days a week), can request a building access code (subject to approval and business needs).
Building Access Codes are managed through the ASACK System operated by the Colorado State Patrol. You can request a Pierce building access code through the ASACK Portal. (You will be required to create an account first if you don’t have one).
Note: You must be on the DOR Network or VPN to access the ASACK Portal.
Once the request is submitted, it is routed to the DOR Authorized Individual (AI) who verifies that the person requesting access is authorized by the Division Appointing Authority or Director. Once authorization has been received, the request will be processed.
The process for submitting a request and final approval can take anywhere from 3 to 5 business days depending on the number of requests, approval process and other workload demands of State Patrol and Facilities, Safety & Security.
If your request is denied, you will receive an email from the ASACK system notifying you that it was denied and to follow up with your administration. You may also receive an email from the DOR AI that there was a problem with your request and that it needs to be corrected and resubmitted. If your request is approved, you will receive an email from the DOR AI that your request was approved and you should receive an email from the ASACK System with information on how to retrieve and use your code.
If a building access code is not used for 180 consecutive days, it will automatically deactivate. If this occurs, you DO NOT need to submit a new ASACK request. Rather, you will need to call the Colorado State Patrol dispatch office at 303-866-3660 and let them know your code is not working. They should be able to verify your identity and reactivate your code.
