Every Fall CDOR considers potential legislation for the upcoming Session. Ideas are brought forward by CDOR staff and go through an extensive vetting process. After that, the top five bill ideas are chosen and presented to the Governor's Office for approval as "Department bills".
If you have an idea for a bill, something in statute that needs to change, run those ideas by your section leaders and then division directors. Once vetted by your division, those ideas will be given to Executive Director for consideration.
Revisor's Bill:
If you notice an error in statute, something that is out-of-date, or otherwise a technical correction, forward those ideas on to the Liaison, for possible inclusion in the Revisor's Bill. The Revisor's Bill is an annual bill that improves the clarity and certainty of the statutes by amending, repealing, and reconstructing various statutory provisions of law that are obsolete, imperfect, or inoperative.
