Moving from Optum to WEX
Moving from Optum to WEX
Important Information!!
What if I don't initiate the transfer of funds from Optum Bank to WEX during the transfer window from June 24 – July 31? Will WEX accept late transfers?
You will need to initiate an individual transfer. Attached is the transfer request form you will utilize to initiate this. Complete the form then return it to Optum Bank at:
● PO Box 271629, Salt Lake City, UT 84127
● Fax: 1-866-314-9795
Once Optum Bank receives the form, they will process and close the account to send the funds to WEX. Transfers completed by Oct. 1, 2024 will have the $20 closure fee with Optum Bank reimbursed. After this date, a transfer can still incur, however you will be responsible for the closure fee. It is important to note that you need to liquidate your investments prior to Optum Bank processing the form.
If I elect to transfer funds from Optum Bank to WEX, when is the last date I can use my Optum Bank account?
The blackout period with Optum Bank begins on Aug. 5 and ends Aug. 21, 2024. You will have access to your funds with Optum Bank through Aug. 4, 2024.
What does the blackout period mean?
If you are transferring funds to WEX within the transfer window, you will be unable to use your Optum Bank funds during the blackout period (Aug. 5 – 21). You will have access to July HSA employer and employee contributions in your WEX HSA at this time.
