Popup basics

The user interface of Analysis is made up of menus and popups. In this manual, we will distinguish 4 different types of popups:

Besides a number of general controls in most of the popups, they all of these have specific functionality that is accessible to the user through user interaction widgets, such as buttons, text input fields and pulldown menus.

General popup

A good example of a general popup is the Molecule: Molecules popup. This popup contains all the different attributes that are available in all other popups, and we will use it here to describe all the different types of functionality in a general way.

General popup controls

Besides the controls provided by the operating system for closing, resizing, minimising and maximising popups, Analysis has its own general controls. These are present in most, but not all, popups and are shown as icons:



Popup Tabs

An important feature of most popups is the fact that they are subdivided into tabs. The tabs are shown on the top of the window and can be accessed by simple clicks on the desired tab.

The user interaction with Analysis popups takes place through the interface widgets in the popups. These are:

Notification and confirmation popups

This type of popup is the simplest in Analysis. They are used for pass messages from Analysis to the user, and can contain confirmation or cancellation buttons. These information in the popups are intended to be sufficiently self-explanatory. Examples are:
