Installation

Should I use precompiled versions of Analysis or try to compile the software from source code?

Various problems with compiling Analysis from source have been reported for different platforms, and generally the easiest way to install Analysis is by using the precompiled versions that can be downloaded from here. In case no version is listed that is compatible with your system try to compile Analysis from source, or notify the developers about your needs.

Is it possible to run different versions of Analysis in parallel?

Yes, there should be no problem with having different installations running side by side as long as the directories are separated, e.g ccpnmr/ccpnmr1.0 and ccpnmr/ccpnmr2.0 for version 1.0 and version 2.0.

Which Python versions are compatible with Analysis?

In principle it Analysis works with python 2.4 or higher (see also Download and installation), however, issues have been reported with Python 2.6. To make sure your Analysis installation works regardless of your local python installation you can use one of the precompiled Analysis versions that come with a working python version 2.5 (see here).

Analysis version 2.0 reports python warnings on startup. What does this mean?

Some functionality in analysis requires additional modules in order to run properly:

Can I copy/move an Analysis project from one platform to another without problems, e.g. from Windows to UNIX?

Yes you can. In case of an Analysis v2 project you can simply copy the project folder from one platform to the other. In the case of v1 projects you also need to copy the top-level XML file.
