Markers
The Markers menu allows the user to add markers and rulers to the spectrum windows at specified positions. Markers and rulers behave differently:
A marker is a multi-dimensional cross mark at the current cursor position. As such, markers are displayed in all windows with similar window axes as the window that the marker was created in. For example, a marker created in a 2 dimensional 1H 15N window, will also show up in 3D windows with 1H and 15N axes. If the mouse cursor is on a selected peak, the marker is placed on the center of that peak. Markers are always drawn in all the dimensions that are on display.
A ruler is a one-dimensional vertical or horizontal line at the current mouse cursor position. Rulers are placed on the position of the mouse cursor, regardless whether a peak was selected. The ruler line can appear in other windows at the same co-ordinates but may appear as a vertical line if the mapping of the other window differs from the original.
