General usage
Analysis is a very versatile NMR project management software package. An inexperienced user might be overwhelmed by the vast amount of functionality and have difficulties using the windows and navigating the menus and tabs. It is therefore recommended to spend some time to learn the basic controls and how to change general settings and personalize the behavior of analysis. This page explains how to do that how to do that.
Basic controls
The majority of interactions of the user with analysis is done using a limited set of basic controls involving functions accessible using the mouse buttons and keyboard combinations. For the more experienced user keyboard shortcuts come in very handy and speed up the work process. Functionality accessible through mouse actions and often used keyboard shortcuts are listed in the tables below:
Mouse functions
Mouse buttons are indicated as 'Left', 'Middle', 'Right' and 'Mouse wheel', mouse motions are indicated in italic. Multiple options for the same functions are listed on separate lines and indicated with a number.

Window customization and arrangement
The windows in analysis can be customized by setting colors and behavior. Detailed explanations are given in the HowTo's.
Another important aspect of optimally working with Analysis is the arrangement of the windows on screen. Analysis uses many windows and popups, and this can sometime result in spending a lot of time on opening, closing and minimizing and maximizing of popups. Two tips I can give:
Make sure the most used windows are arranged in a standard way on the screen.
Use a large monitor, or even better, use 2 monitors or multiple desktops. The additional working space allows you to keep more windows open at the same time and saves a lot of time in the window management while using analysis. If this seems expensive, consider the time saved on doing an effective analysis in a convenient working environment.
Further tips
Save your project and restart every hour or so. Analysis is written in python and still suffers from a memory leak, this causes analysis to use more and more memory and slow down overtime.
Update of analysis frequently using M: Project: Updates.
