Upgrading
Is there a need to upgrade from Analysis version 1 to version 2?
Analysis v2 is meant to be a major improvement in terms of functionality and design with respect to v1. In addition, an extensive release documentation is currently being written and made available on this wiki. However, v2 is still in development and requires bug fixes and probably some redesigning of the interface. In addition, not all functionality in v1 is yet available in v2, and for example the publicly available ARIA version is currently not compatible with v2.
If you want to get familiar with the new interface and functionality of v2 and are less concerned about the stability, you should try v2 and help us further develop it. If v1 serves your purposes or you are in the middle of a project that needs to be finished, stick to v1 until the final release of v2.
How can I migrate projects from Analysis version 1 to version 2?
Analysis version 1 projects are different from version 2 projects. In order to migrate version 1 projects to version 2 projects you need to do the following:
Package the project using M:Project:Package Up menu option. The command saves the relevant data to a new directory, which is the concatenation of "Tmp_" and the project name (with "-" changed to "_"). After that it creates a gzipped tar file (requires python 2.3).
Upload the gzipped tar file to the upgrade server for the conversion to a Analysis version 2 project.
Note that chemComps data are not (yet) in the standard reference data. You still have to save those to your own working directory before packaging up the project. We suggest to use project directory for that.
