Export data
Instructions
In Analysis, data can be exported in two main ways:
Directly from tables e.g. in case we want to export data in tables to text files.
Via the FormatConverter e.g. in case we want to use the data further in other programs with different data formats, for example for structure calculations.
Exporting data from tables
To export data which are listed in a table in Analysis, click anywhere in the table using the right mouse button and select the export option: R: Export. This raises the Export data popup (shown below) in which it is possible to select data columns, choose export format and then create the export file. To do this:
Uncheck the columns that not will be used for export
Select the export format in the “Format:” pulldown menu
Click [File] and choose directory and filename
Click [Save]
Exporting data via the FormatConverter
Many different exports are possible with the FormatConverter, and it is impossible to list all of them here. Therefore we restrict ourselves to a simple illustrative example for the export of commonly used data.
To start the FormatConverter, open the FormatConverter popup using M: Other: FormatConverter. Click on the Export menu and choose the format to which you want to export. Depending on the selected format, a series of popups with different parameters and settings will guide you through the export and format conversion.
Example
We will here as an example illustrate how to export a molecular sequence from CCPN to CYANA format version 2.1:
To start the format conversion we use M: Other: FormatConverter, which raises the FormatConverter popup. To export the sequence in CYANA format, we click Export: Cyana. This raises the cyana export popup:
Note: The settings below are project and user dependent and should be adapted accordingly.
Now we click on the blue arrow: "Click here for the sequence export menu.", to get the full sequence export menu, in which we set the following parameters:
“Select chains to export:”: We choose the chain of the molecular sequence that we want to export
“Cyana version:”: 2.1
“Name of export sequence file”: Click [Select export file], and in the file selection popup that is raised we browse to the directory we want to export to and set the file name: filename.seq
We click on the additional options menu, in which we select the “Minimal interaction:” and leave the rest to default settings. Note that information that describes each parameter is found by clicking on the [i] button at right. We finish by clicking [Export sequence file]. If all is well, the export directory will now contain the sequence file, which should contain the residues and residue numbers.
