Reflection:
The subject of my images is everyday things like trees and sewers. The setting of my images is mainly outdoor but, occasionally I have indoor pictures. I like this aspect of my images because the outdoor lighting has a great effect on my images. Indoor lighting can often look artificial, outdoor lighting always makes the image look natural. Most of the images were made by facing my camera drastically in one direction, up or down. I had to make sure I had the right balance of light, color, and space. All of these things contribute to the final product of the image. The materials utilized to create my images were everyday subjects that are mainly outdoors. I rarely used people as subjects in my most recent digital photography images. I chose to create these specific images because most of them can show the art of the outdoors. Everything outdoor, the color, texture, value, contrast, all of it works together to make up the beauty of the wilderness. I used line to show the leading line and I think using as much line as possible is the best thing you can do for your image, line shows much of what the image and subjects in the image are trying to tell. Without line many of our images and subjects would not be able to shape. My work is arranged how I wanted it to be arranged. I arrange my work mostly to fit half way through my camera shape.
Most of the compositions and techniques showcased in my images are quite frequent. Usually the images have either high key lighting or low key lighting there isn't much of an in between in my images. I like this aspect of my images as well. My images aren't dull, they are either upbeat or intriguingly low key. My project evolved from not knowing what image from each project I wanted to represent to being certain which image I wanted to show.
The meaning and story behind my images is to show what you can do with the art of photography what illusions and techniques you can make. This project relates to my life because it shows everything and every aspect in my life, grades, family, friends. Just like digital photography has so many aspects, and techniques you can use to make images. The ways to make my images stronger and something that bothers me about my images is the ways that they all come from different times. I like my images to be taken at the same time when associated together.
My grades for photography during this quarter have reflected a new subject for me. I feel I could have done a lot better but that what a new subject is about. Learning about how to read into a new subject is a great part of learning what you know and what you can strive for.
My goals for this upcoming quarter is to stay on top of my work. My work reflects how much I am determined in class. Another goal I have is to pay more attention in class. This will soon reflect my work in a good way. I will learn more the more I pay attention.
