Pure Contour & Pattern

I’m calling this project, the beauty of wildlife because I use colors and a variety of animals to make my work. The subject is the three animals based off a toy animal. I chose to create this specific work because I wanted to fill the negative space ina cool way. For materials, I used watercolors, sharpie, and colored pencils. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: watercolor blending, painting outlining and gridding. While creating this work, I paid close attention to keeping my watercolor inside the lines by using smaller brushes. I wanted my artwork to look loud and hectic and I did that by adding a lot of color and designs. To add interest to my composition, I used sharpies to create designs in the negative space. I like the way the designs look and I am proud of how I filled in the negative space. However, I struggled with drawing the animals. If I created another work like this I may make less sections of negative space. My work shows that I learned negative space, proportions, blind contour and zentangles.
