Hand Drawing

I’m calling this project, rubber band because I play with rubber bands a lot.

The subject is a hand based off a hand playing with a rubber band

I chose to create this specific work because I wanted to show I could do pure contour.

For materials, I used HB pencils and 2b, 6b pencils.

I used a variety of techniques and methods including: outlining and drawing.

While creating this work, I paid close attention to keeping straight lines by not making "hairy lines".

I wanted my artwork to look simple and I did that by not adding a background. To add interest to my composition, I used a wrapped rubber band by wrapping a rubber band around my own hand and drawing that. I like the way my nail is slightly shown on my thumb and I am proud of my creases in my hands. However, I struggled with not making "hairy" lines. If I created another work like this I may add a background. My work shows that I learned pure contour.
