The project that we did was 4 linoleum prints The goal was to use a picture that we created or took and carve it into a linoleum block to make prints. The subject of my creation is me and my friends. The setting of my creation is in New York City. I chose to make this specifically because I thought it wold be fun to create a picture of me and my friends. The steps I went through in creating this project were choosing a picture, drawing on it, applying it onto the linoleum, carving the linoleum, applying ink to the linoleum, and putting them on multiple pieces of paper. . The materials used when I made this project were pencils, linoleum, ink and paper. I chose to compose my art this way because I thought that it looked cool.
Some techniques I use while making my art were cross-hatching, and hatching the linoleum. You can see in my linoleum block surface. At first my project was going to another landscape, but it evolved to be a photo of me and my friends because I thought it would be more fun.
The meaning behind my artwork is sort of like a memory book to remember fun moments with my friends. This project relates to me because I like making art with my friends. If I were to do this project again I would’ve try to make the linoleum block more detailed so that the print would come out more detailed.
