Zoomed Shoe

I’m calling this project, landscape shoestring because I tried to incorporate different landscapes in the spaces of the zoomed shoe. The subject is a part of a nike shoe based off a whole nike shoe. I chose to create this specific work because I knew that I would get many spaces to fill in without people knowing what my subject was. For materials, I used watercolor and marker and blended the colors to create blurry landscapes. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: outlining and painting. While creating this work, I paid close attention to blending my colors by using multiple watercolor palettes to create my work. I wanted my artwork to look abstract and I did that by adding waves of colors and splatter to take away from the image itself. To add interest to my composition, I used a splatter painting technique, by blending colors and splattering it on the work. I like the way my work has some black spots and I am proud of the blending I did. However, I struggled with keeping the watercolors within the lines. If I created another work like this I may not splatter paint as much. My work shows that I learned zooming and spacing and proportions.
