Sustained Investigation #3

I’m calling this project, 10 years before because it is the same landscape as SI #2 just 10 years easier. I chose to create this specific work because I was inspired by one of the bell ringers to have bring awareness to global warming and environmental issues which is what I was doing in this and the previous SI#2. When I was creating this I had a thought-provoking idea in mind.

For materials, I used watercolor and marker. I used the watercolor to make the whole thing and marker for outlining the people, boat, and wood. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: outlining and blending. While creating this work, I paid close attention to making sure that the setting was the same as my previous work. I wanted my artwork to show what the world will look if we can change the way we are treating the world.

I like the way the water looks. However, I struggled with the boy jumping off the rope swing. I decided to make him more abstract because it went with the rest of the abstract background. If I created another work like this I may take out the boy. My work shows that I learned how to make a piece of work from that brings attention to an important topic.
