Artist Statement: The setting and purpose of these images is using my compositions and techniques to create photos that have a subject. In this instance the subject is toys. To create my images I took three subjects, a moose, a box of sweethearts and a rubix cube and placed them where I thought I would get the best example of my 18 compositions. I used my Backyard as my setting for most of my photos. I chose the outdoors because it is where I would get most of my natural light which would give emphasis on many of the elements of design like color and space. Most of my images are composed of different spacing techniques depending on the composition I was trying to create. For example, for my rule of thirds image, I knew I had to place my subject towards the last third of my photo.

In some of my photos multiple compositions are shown for example, for my high horizon line I also had an example of low key lighting. Most of my photos are taken outside to get the best lighting. My project first started out with just a white out bottle in most of my photos and they were mostly inside and didn't have the best filters. I now has a variety of photos inside and outside with good examples of principles of design.

The meanings of my photos is to show good examples of the different compositions and techniques you can use in a photo. This project relates to my life in the way that their are so many choices you can make in life, like picking a college just like their are so many compositions you can choose and learn from. Something I would change about one of my images is making my high horizon line photo higher because I was having trouble creating an image with this composition.
