I’m calling this project Strawberry Mango Skies because it’s like the term cotton candy skies except it’s orange instead of blue. I chose to create this specific work because I wanted to experiment With acrylic after using watercolor for all of my projects. I tried to make a above the clouds look.
For materials, acrylic paint. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: layering and blotching. While creating this work, I paid close attention to making sure that the clouds and the sky didn’t blend together and I did this by waiting for it to dry before I added clouds. I wanted my artwork to be a skyscape and I did this by making the scene above the clouds.
I like the way my work looks realistic. However, I struggled with figuring out how to use acrylic the right way. I wanted to show that I could use acrylic and I did that by making my piece completely out of acrylic paint.. If I created another work like this I may have added more colors than just the three. My work shows that I learned how to make a piece using unfamiliar materials
