Paper Cut Project

I’m calling this project, dreamwork because this project looks like something you would see in a dream. The subject is a landscape with a waterfall coming off the page. I chose to create this specific work because I love lakes and landscapes in Maine, but I also wanted something to come off the subject so I added the waterfall. When I was creating this I had a fantasy idea in mind.

For materials, Watercolor paper and watercolor paint. I used the cricut machine to cut out all of my shapes like the mountains and trees. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: cutting and blending. While creating this work, I paid close attention making sure that the cricut was working the right way because I wanted to have a clean cut for my landscape. I wanted my artwork to show a landscape with shapes coming off the page and i did the by layering the tress and end of the waterfall.

I like the way something is coming off the paper. However, I struggled with making the waterfall not look like an elephant trunk. If I created another work like this I may have made the waterfall connected to the lake when I used the cricut to cut it out because i think this would have helped make it look more like a part of the project and less like an elephant trunk. Also I would have make more things pop out more to make it more 3 dimensional. My work shows that I learned how to use the new cricut technology for future projects.
