Beautiful Oops

I’m calling this project, cOmet On Point siS because it spells out OOPS when you look at the capital letters. The subject is a comet going through the galaxy. I chose to create this specific work because I thought the ink splatter looked like a comet a worked from there. When I was creating this I had a cool background in mind.

For materials, I used colored pencils I used a tortellin as a material because I wanted to blend my colors. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: blending, and outlining While creating this work, I paid close attention to . I wanted my artwork to look like a real galaxy so I deepened the color a lot with colored pencils. To add interest to my composition, I activated all the sides with the galaxy.

I like the way the background and the brightness of the comet contrast with each other because the background is so dark and I am proud of the galaxy. However, I struggled with blending the galaxy . If I created another work like this I may make the comet brighter. My work shows that I learned how to turn a spill into something beautiful.
