Darkroom Christmas

The setting of my image is in my living room next to the banister. The subject of my images is the banister of the stairway upstairs and the Christmas lights and decorations wrapped around it. I utilized the banister and the artificial lighting emitting from the Christmas lights wrapped around the banister. To create the photo I propped the camera on the TV stand and pointed it upwards towards the banister of the stairs and the Christmas lights.

Compositions and techniques I used were angle up, low key lighting, and obviously, repetition and grouping because the bars coming from the stairs are repeating. My project evolved because I was planning on using a different picture entirely put I decided on this one, although it had some processing errors because I thought it would look nice.

I chose to create this photo because I knew I needed photos of things that related to Christmas and Christmas lights are one of the major parts of Christmas. This relates to my life because, Like I stated earlier, I think Christmas lights are one of the major parts of Christmas and when I was assigned a Christmas project, I knew I had to incorporate the lights. Something that particularly bothers me about my image is that there wasn't a complete range of value. If I were to redo it I would have tried to get a better range of value.
