Artist Inspired

The project that we did was an artist inspired piece of art. The goal was to use any tools to create a piece of work that mixed two artists and or artist movements. The subject of my creation is a sunset with a man hanging from the sun. The setting of my creation is the ocean sunset. I chose to make this specifically because I was assigned Claude Monet which I really liked, and once I finished my sunset and I asked from feedback from my peers and this is what they told me to do. The steps I went through in creating this project are outlining, and blotchy paint strokes. The materials used when I made this project were watercolors, pencil, markers, and the heat press. I chose to compose my art this way because I wanted to have deeper meaning win my project while still having beauty in it.

Some techniques I use while making my art are outline the man and making choppy stories across the horizon line. You can see it in the background of my drawing. At first my project was going to be just a sunset with zentangles, but it evolved and ended up having the hanging man.

The meaning behind my artwork is showing the beauty of of Claude Monet’s work with Kara Walkers.. This project relates to me because I love the sunset and this reminds me of the sunset at Winslow park.. If I were to do this project again I would have made more darks in the sunset because I don’t think it completely captured the beauty of Claude Monet’s work.
