Leblanc VSP

This is basically a French-made wooden Vito, whereas the plastic Vitos were made in the Kenosha, WI. Tom Ridenour was working with Leblanc at the time this was made and he designed (or at least helped in the design of) this clarinet. Ridenour's Lyrique 576BC is supposed to be patterned after this.

Serial #D51706 Thanks to Gary Kern for letting me review this clarinet!Barrel: 66.3mmBore LH joint top: 15.0mmBore LH joint at bottom: 14.5mm poly-cylindricalIntonation results taken when playing loud and not lipping. See how to interpret these results on the Model Comparison Page.

For this test, I pulled 0 at the barrel and 0 in the center for this horn.

Intonation summary: Very, very good. It is disturbing how sharp the clarion register E and F are. The tone holes would need to have material added. But I think it would be worth it to lower those notes. This is otherwise almost professional intonation.

Key work quality: Superb. My favorite. The sturdiest in the world, like all Noblet/Leblanc products.

This clarinet is most appropriate for: Anyone, including advanced players, if the intonation problems were cared for. Perhaps all of the VSP models would not have this fault.
