I think this was a Couesnon product. Couesnon traits include the G# throat tone key without the adjustment screw, and the single post and pin-in-hole left pinkie keys. However there is no chiseled out place under the right pinkie keys.

Intonation results taken when playing loud and not lipping. See how to interpret these results on the Model Comparison Page.

For this test, I pulled 1.3mm at the barrel and x1.3mm in the center for this horn.

Intonation summary: Very good! This is intermediate intonation, even for today. And this is better than many Chinese clarinets today.

Key work quality: Medium hard chrome plated. This key work is typical of almost all French stencil clarinets from the 1940s. It is sturdy enough to hold up well if the instrument is treated as a musical instrument should be. Take appropriate care in assembling and disassembling.

Condition issues fixed: There was a small crack in the bell, and there was a very insignificant chip that I filled in the lowest tenon.

This clarinet is most appropriate for: Adults who are returning to playing the clarinet and who will enjoy the sweet tone and response of a narrow bore clarinet.
