Dumont / René Dumont

This clarinet is unusual for metal clarinets, as the body and posts of the clarinet seem to be done in gold colored lacquer. It is possible that the bell is real gold plated, as Conn made saxophones that were similarly partially gold plated. In any case, the appearance would be striking if polished, since the keys are of nickel silver.

This instrument would have probably played quite nicely, since its wooden cousin is a good instrument. My thanks to Gabriel for these pictures.
