Thanks to Pamela G. for giving me the opportunity to review her Dad’s clarinet.
This is an excellent C clarinet!
Below the oval A.DESHAYES logo has a very stylized D A stamped on top of one another. And I think I have seen this same sort of hat-shaped logo elsewhere. Where?!
Serial #none

Bore LH joint at bottom: 14.5mm
Intonation results taken when playing loud and not lipping. See how to interpret these results on the Model Comparison Page.
For this test, I pulled 1 mm at the barrel, and 0 mm at the center tenon.
Intonation summary: This is excellent intonation for a C clarinet. The bit of flatness around mid-register E is typical, and makes it so that the Chalumeau A is not so terribly sharp. The Chalumeau C# is the most problematic note. I have lowered the key now. Adding the 3rd RH finger is a good option when playing a slow enough passage. Various things can be done, but the strength of the tone will be reduced. I did not pursue tweaking any further. But still, this clarinet is amazing!
Key work quality: Very good chrome plated keys.
This clarinet is most appropriate for: Professional wanting to play Ravel’s Bolero.
Condition issues noted: I fixed two cracks in the barrel, one at the bottom of the LH joint, and a very slight one at the top of the RH joint.
