Cavalier HR German

Thanks to Ned M for letting me review this clarinet! Metal Cavaliers have also been spotted. Cavalier is one of Conn's student lines and these clarinets were manufactured in Germany. This one shows clear similarities with the other one I have reviewed which was marked with the Conn name.

Serial #13466V

Barrel: 62.6mm

Bore LH joint top: 14.3mm

Bore LH joint at bottom: 14.7mm

Intonation results taken when playing loud and not lipping. See how to interpret these results on the Model Comparison Page.

For this test, I pulled 2mm at the barrel and 1mm at the center tenon.

Intonation summary: Dreadful.

Key work quality: The key metal is soft. The nickel keys don’t shine up as well as expected.

This clarinet is most appropriate for: a beginner could get by for a semester with this.

Condition issues noted: The clarinet came with kid skin pads which were very thin. If there is any rough treatment the keys will go out of alignment.
