Merry Christmas

posted 21 Dec 2017, 14:56 by J Croxon

Dear Parents

I am sure you will all agree that Christmas is a time for peace and goodwill to all and for giving and reflecting. Our children's performances have highlighted the festive spirit of Christmas and I hope it has left you ready to enjoy the Christmas holidays.

Lea Forest continues to move forward from the Ofsted GOOD judgement achieved in November 2016. We are now, on a regular basis hosting sessions in Lea Forest for other schools, both from Birmingham and further afield. Our visitors are keen to come and see the good practice in place in the school – particularly our 5 part maths model and ‘Resilient Reader’. The feedback from these visits is always really positive and every visitor we have comments on how respectful our children are and on their excellent behaviour. We are very proud of all your children and the way they model our school values on a daily basis. They really are a credit to you all.

On a sporting front, your children are now participating in a growing number of sports competitions. Yet again, they are a credit to us as a school and to you as parents, always showing great sportsmanship alongside a healthy level of competitiveness. These events will continue in 2018, alongside a number of non-sporting after school and lunchtime clubs.

I would very much like to thank our Parent Consultation Group who are becoming increasingly involved in the school and supporting with a growing number of events. The work completed in arranging the Christmas Fair, with the support of Miss Giles must be recognised. Well done for helping us to raise over £1800 for additional resources in school. With the dramatic decrease in budget faced by the school, this fundraising is crucial to enable us to provide both resources and experiences for your children. We look forward to a growing number of events over

Finally, I sincerely hope you enjoy a break from the daily school run, have a festive, merry Christmas and a very happy New Year Many thanks to you all, as parents/carers for your on going support of the school, ensuring the children attend daily, on time, well prepared and ready for the day’s activities. We look forward to seeing you all back in school on Tuesday 9 January 2018.
