Secondary Applications - Closing Date

Parent Information: Yr6 Secondary Applications
The closing date for applications to be submitted to the Local Authority for those transferring to secondary school in September 2015 is 31st October 2014. You must make sure your application is completed and handed in to the Local Authority by then or your child may not be allocated a place in a secondary school.
Celebration Event - 22nd October

Parent Information: Today!!! - 2.00pm – 3.00pm
Parents of children in Years 3 – 6 are invited to a celebration afternoon, to celebrate the wonderful work that has been done during this half term – I am sure you will all be amazed.
Parents will have the opportunity to go into their child’s class and at the end of the afternoon there will be a celebration assembly when prizes will be given for the best homework for each year group.
I am sure it will be a wonderful afternoon where children get the praise they deserve for all their hard work
We look forward to seeing you all.
Parent Drop-In Mornings With the School Nurse

Are you worried about your child’s health?
Why not drop in and speak to the School Nurse?
Drop in to the Conference room every Wednesday between 9.00- 10:00am. The last Wednesday of the month it will be ‘Health Topic of the Month’. Come in and get information about your child’s health. If you need to speak to the School Nurse in private then you can call Miss Bibi on 0121 465 1603 or 07710365853 to book an appointment at the academy.

Lea Forest began their league campaign with two crushing victories over Alston (5-2) and Blakesley Hall (4-0) on Tuesday evening. The Foresters leap into second place, three points behind leaders, The Oval.

Children, staff and parents helped to raise an amazing £651.00 for Macmillan with a fantastic cake sale last month.

REMINDER – SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHER
The photographer will be in school on Thursday 9 October. During the school day all children will have their photograph taken by themselves and with any brothers and sisters in school.
If you would like pre-school children to be photographed with their older brothers and sisters (families) you will need to bring them into school between 8.00 am and 8.30am through door number 3 on Eddish Road. The doors will close promptly at 8.30am. To avoid disappointment please make sure you are here on time. Any families who arrive after 8.30am with pre school children will be too late and will not be able to have a photograph taken. Family photographs will not include adults.
If you would like your child to go to breakfast club after the family photograph has been taken you will need to take them to door number 4 on Eddish Road to be signed in. The door for breakfast club will close promptly at 8.30.
Parent's Evening Information

Parent Information: Due to illness we have postponed the parent's evening of children in 5ST. A new date will be arranged shortly.
All other classes remain unaffected and parent's evening will go ahead as planned.
Harvest Monday 6th October

On Monday 6 October the children will be celebrating The Harvest Festival in an assembly.
We would be very grateful if children could bring in a donation of food i.e tinned food, jars of food, dry food, teabags, coffee. Please do not send any fresh fruit or vegetables as they may go off. All donations will be collected from the Academy and delivered to the local food bank to benefit the local community.
We would like to thank you in advance for all donations you send in.
