Easter Egg Decorating Competition

posted 20 Mar 2015, 15:15 by J Croxon [ updated 20 Mar 2015, 15:15 ]

As you can see there have been such a lot of activities going on in the school at the moment and the children have played a tremendous part in the fundraising for Comic Relief over the past few weeks. For this reason we have made the very difficult decision to not have an Easter Egg decorating competition this year. We apologise for the disappointment but we will be having Easter craft activities during school next week.

We would like to thank all of the parents, children and staff for their help with the fundraising. I am confident we will raised an amazing amount to donate to Comic Relief and we will let you know the total as soon as possible.

We ask that all adults help show our children how to be good neighbours by placing any rubbish in the bins around our site

We are a non smoking site and ask that all members of staff, visitors and parents abide by our policy and do not smoke whilst on our grounds.

Thank you for your support in these matters

World Book Day at Lea Forest

posted 5 Mar 2015, 19:36 by J Croxon

To celebrate ‘World Book Day’ and promote reading within school, the library has bought lots of new books. There is a mix of the old and the new with favourites like ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ and the recently published wonderfully entertaining ‘The Scarecrows’ Wedding’ and ‘The First Hippo on the Moon’.

For older readers, we have new books by authors David Walliams, Jacqueline Wilson and Jeff Kinney as well as popular classic novels. Many more new books will be appearing in the next few weeks including books from the ‘Rainbow Magic’ and the ‘Beast Quest’ series. In addition books based on much loved films like ‘Frozen’ will also be available.

A big THANK YOU to all the children and staff who have taken part in World Book Day today and dressed up as their favourite story book characters.

From Pirates to Princesses, it has been fantastic to see who their favourite characters are!
