Changes to Leadership structure at Lea Forest

posted 31 Jan 2014, 18:00 by J Croxon [ updated 31 Jan 2014, 18:01 ]

The Autumn Term at Lea Forest has been highly successful, with all pupils having made good progress, demonstrating a fantastic attitude to learning. The children are a credit to the academy and yourself.

Following such a successful start to the year, AET have requested Mr Lowe to support another AET academy, alongside working at Lea Forest Primary Academy. The Governing Body have agreed for Mr Lowe to support at another school for two days per week on a temporary basis and have requested Mrs Thompson, Deputy Head Teacher to become Head of School under the support and guidance of Mr Lowe.

The Assistant Head Teachers – Mrs Burke and Mrs Hedley will both become Acting Deputy Head Teachers. Mr Lowe will continue to be in school supporting the strategic development of the academy. We also believe that the academy will benefit significantly through the natural development of additional partnerships with other schools.

These changes will take effect from 1 February 2014.

The staff and leadership at Lea Forest Primary Academy thank you for your continued support of the academy

Year 5 Homework Club

posted 29 Jan 2014, 21:14 by J Croxon

Parent Information: Homework club for 5BS and 5ST

We meet Monday straight after school until 4.15pm. The purpose of our club is to help the children develop ideas on how they can present their homework from the list they received at the start of the term.

The list included things like making a piece of Victorian clothing, finding out about Charles Dickens and finding out about Victorian inventions and their modern day equivalents.

There is also the opportunity to be able to collect resources to help your child create individual projects.

Parents are welcome to attend and find out exactly what the children are doing. It was great to have so many parents this week, you were fantastic, coming up with some amazing ideas and helping the children to get started.

The club is open to all Year 5 children. Please speak to Miss Terry, Miss Seera or Mrs Farren for more information.

Changes to the start of day arrangements

posted 24 Jan 2014, 18:05 by J Croxon

From Monday the 27th of January and for the remainder of the spring term, we will be opening the academies to the classrooms at 8:45am and children will come straight into the academy when the bell sounds.

Between 8:45am and 9:00am the children will be involved in a variety of reading activities in class to support reading development across the whole academy.

Doors will remain open as normal until 9:00am and any child arriving after 9:00am will be marked as late on the register. To ensure that every child benefits from this additional reading we would like to encourage all children to arrive promptly at 8:45 and go immediately into their class.

Thanking you in advance for your support
