A year of sporting success at Lea Forest

Last year our newly formed Lea Forest football team finished 7th in the league. 12 months on and we had a fantastic battle with nearby Timberly Academy
for second place which was incredibly tight, but Timberley managed to pip Lea Forest - by a single point - to that finals berth spot. We are still incredibly proud of the team's achievements and thrilled to see Lea Forest reach 3rd in the league.
Tree Planting at Lea Forest

On Tuesday 1 July and Wednesday 2 July Lea Forest will be working with volunteers from Calor Gas Birmingham Depot, alongside Mr Jules, our Building Services Manager to plant over 400 beautiful trees on our site and help us to rebuild the forest .
The trees we will enhance the academy grounds, provide pupils with peaceful and calm reading areas, and widen the opportunity to have a creative outdoor curriculum.

Year 4 are currently exploring instruments for their topic work ‘playlist’.
Miss Warwick is keen to know if children from any year group can play a musical instrument and whether they are happy to show off their talent. If so please do get in touch with her.
Miss Warwick looks forward to hearing from any young musicians!

Nursery and Reception Induction Meeting on Tuesday 24 June 2014
Reception Induction starts 9.30am
Nursery Induction starts 1.30pm
Parents have been invited to attend either the Nursery or Reception Induction Day on Tuesday 24 June 2014. Please ensure you bring your completed Induction Pack and the relevant proof for Free School Meals.
The Induction will be held by Mrs Thompson, Head Teacher, and Mrs Newton, Assistant Head and EYFS Co-ordinator.

Yr4's Fundraise for Oxfam and Cancer Research

Our amazing Yr4's have planned, organised and run a summer fete in there classrooms today and raised an amazing £216.81p for charity! The children made cakes, created games and ran bring and buy stalls, throughout the day. Miss Warwick and Miss Jones would like to pass on their thanks to all of our children for helping to raise the money today.
