Attendance Facts and Fiction

Holidays are not permitted in term time and will not be authorised. If you feel that you have an exceptional circumstance, you will need to request the holiday in writing stating the reason for the holiday, and mark it for the attention of the Head Teacher Mrs Thompson.

You will then be asked to attend a meeting with the Head Teacher to discuss the leave.

FACT –Research shows that by missing lessons, pupils soon fall behind their classmates.

FACT - The lessons pupils miss are not repeated at a later date.

FACT – You are not entitled to 10 days extra holiday each year. Schools are legally within their rights to say that holidays within term time are not authorised.

FACT – Missing school does matter for younger children: every school day counts.
