We decided to start our fund raising early and have had a fantastic start raising £350.45 for Comic Relief! Let's keep it going and break our record.

We always love to hear good news about our school and we were delighted to receive this letter in the post from Birmingham's Services for Education.

St George's Day Menu - April 23rd

To celebrate St George’s Day, the patron Saint of England, we will be inviting all the children to have a themed dinner on that day. The Menu and consent letter will be sent out after half term.

Goodbye Mrs Smith

Mrs Smith (formerly Miss Hussey) is leaving after half term on 27 February. Mrs Smith has been a Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisor for over 20 years at Ridpool and then Lea Forest and will be sadly missed by children and staff. We wish her well for the future.

Free Events at the Library of Birmingham

Strings Club ­ Instrumental workshops for children Monday 16 February 2015, 1pm ­ 2.30pm and 2.45pm ­4.15pm, Music Library, Library of Birmingham Guidance: There are 10 drop ­in places available, and 20 places reserved at each session. Pre­bookings made through The String Club website, www.thestringsclub.org or by calling 0121 369 1950.


Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery

Drop ­in Family Arts (£1.00 per child) Saturday 14th February 2014 2pm – 4pm Make your own artwork to take home, work with a local artist and try out new techniques! Sessions run on the second and fourth Saturday of the month and are designed for families to work together. No need to book just go along; stay for as little or as long as you like.

Dinner Money

A reminder to parents that Dinner money is payable on the Monday of each week in advance. The cost for dinners is as follows:

Nursery £1.75 a day £8.75 a week

Years 3 to 6 £2.05 a day £10.25 a week

If you think you may be entitled to Free School Meals, or have any queries regarding School Meals, please contact Ms Haynes in the office between 9am and 1pm.

Trip Contributions

There are lots of educational trips over the next few months and the trips would not be possible without your contributions. If you have not already contributed please do so as soon as possible. Please remember to put your child’s name and their class on the envelope and mark it ‘Trips’ and hand to the class teacher or in the letter box located at the front reception desk. The contribution is £5 per term.

National Libraries Day

Saturday 7 February 2015 is 'National Libraries Day'

The Library of Birmingham are running a wonderful, free story session from 11.00am - 11.40am on a Saturday morning which is suitable for children up to the age of 12 years. It's a 'drop-in session' so there is no need to book.

Parent Meeting - Condover Hall

There will be a meeting in school regarding the Year 6 residential visit to Condover Hall on Tuesday 3 February at 3pm prompt in the Key Stage 2 Hall. Please enter the school via the main gates on Hurstcroft Road and go directly to the KS2 Hall from 2.50pm.
