Fasting During Ramadan – Year 5 & 6

posted 15 Jun 2015, 13:33 by J Croxon [ updated 15 Jun 2015, 13:33 ]

Many children are hoping to fast during Ramadan, from Wednesday or Thursday. If you would like your child to fast during the school day, please fill in the attached slip and return it to your child’s class teacher. Children below Year 5 are not encouraged to fast.

For health reasons, children fasting would not be able to take part in Sports Day. We request that children do not fast on that day (23 June).

If we do not receive a signed confirmation for your child to fast, and you usually pay for your child’s meal they will be required to have their school meal and you will be charged.

Thank you for your co-operation in this matter

Children’s appointments during Term Time

posted 5 Jun 2015, 14:27 by J Croxon

At Lea Forest we believe that each and every day a child is in school can make a difference to their learning. We would therefore ask that when possible, appointments that the children need to attend are booked outside of school hours. We understand that this is not always possible.

Should you need to take your child to an appointment in school time, please ensure that you:

1. Bring to the school office the letter or appointment card confirming the details of the appointment before the day.

2. Inform the teacher of the appointment when dropping off your child that morning.

3. Call the main office on 0121 675 3985 no later than 15 minutes before you will arrive to collect the child.

The teachers will then send the child to the office for the correct time.

Please note, children cannot be collected between 3.00 and 3.30pm as this is the busiest time of the day for the office staff.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

posted 2 Jun 2015, 13:07 by J Croxon [ updated 2 Jun 2015, 13:12 ]

There are a number of pupils in our academy who have a severe allergy to nuts including:

peanuts, peanut butter, pecans, walnuts, nut oils and nut flavourings etc. Touching or eating these items may provoke a severe allergic reaction.

For the safety of these pupils, we are asking parents not to send any food containing these items to school, for a snack or in their packed lunch box. This includes any sweets, chocolates, cakes or spreads that may contain nuts.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
