Head Teacher's Welcome

Dear Parents

Lea Forest Academy had its most successful year ever during 2016/17. Getting our ‘Good’ judgement from Ofsted in November was followed by us achieving our best ever KS1 and KS2 results in the Summer. Our 5 values:

-Having High Aspirations

-Being Innovative

-Being Resilient

-Being Respectful

-Being Independent

continue to drive everything that the pupils and staff do at the school. Our values, and particularly the respect shown by the pupils were highly praised by the Ofsted team. ‘Spartacus the squirrel’ is now in every classroom and a very important member of the academy community.

A big welcome is always made to all of our new families. Our new Reception and Nursery children settled in quickly in September and have all made a very good start. All the children look really smart in their new school uniforms. Please can I remind you that all pupils should have a PE kit in school at all times. We do not have many spare kits in school and your child may not be able to take part in their PE lesson if they do not have the appropriate clothing and footwear. Can I remind you that children are NOT allowed to wear trainers to school. All children have appropriate black school shoes. Boots can be worn to school in inclement weather but children must change into school shoes on arrival. Pupils should not be wearing boots during the school day.

If you would like to talk to us about anything, please feel free to talk to myself, a member of my leadership team, the office staff or your child’s class teacher. The teachers will be happy to talk to you after school once they have dismissed their class. Please do not try to talk to the teacher at times when they are responsible for the children, particularly at the start of the day. Members of Senior Leadership and other staff are available at the entrances before school who can take messages and pass these on to the teachers.

Learning starts in all classes at 8.50. Please make sure your child(ren) arrive in school promptly at the start of the day.
