Head Teacher's Welcome
Welcome to Lea Forest Primary Academy...
I consider myself exceptionally fortunate to be able to introduce myself as the Regional Executive Principal for Lift Schools. Following a successful seven years at the Outstanding Percy Shurmer Academy in Birmingham, I am delighted to be leading the learning at Lea Forest, and working with the wonderful children and families, who enjoy all that it has to offer. Also being part of Lift Schools really means that Lea Forest Academy is part of a family of schools that all work together to help deliver our vision: that each and every child can choose a remarkable life.
Lea Forest has two guiding principles, firstly that we pursue the highest academic standards to ensure all our children achieve their full potential. Through our exciting and motivating curriculum, our children soon develop a love of learning and want to achieve their very best. Our second guiding principle is that we are part of a family with a strong ethos of care and support for one another. Children at our school are happy and look after one another. Good manners are strongly promoted and our children are regularly complimented on them by visitors to the school.
Our guiding principles, supported by our vision, mission and values, help to ensure our children blossom into confident, polite, well rounded young people who, by the time they move on at the end of their primary years, are proud of their achievements and feel good about themselves. A huge influence on our success is the relentless high standards in all that we do. We have a highly motivated, enthusiastic team of staff who always put the children first. Our resources are excellent with bright, vibrant classrooms, spacious playgrounds and superb facilities.
We are passionate about giving our children the very best of everything. Children have one chance at their education and we believe our children deserve the absolute best.
Deciding on the primary school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make for them. In the seven years your child will be at primary school, not only will the school educate your child academically, it will have a strong influence on your child’s moral and social development. School websites and prospectuses are a good starting point to find out more information to help you make the decision. When you visit a school you will know if it is the right school for your child.
‘Spartacus the squirrel’ is our school mascot and can be seen all around school. He is a very important member of the Lea Forest community and encourages the children to achieve their best.
In November 2016, were were rated GOOD by Oftsed and we have continued to drive the quality of education ever since. In the summer 2019 we achieved the best ever Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 results in Lea Forest’s history, with Key Stage 2 achieving well above national expectations at the expected level and at greater depth. Our combined (Reading, Writing and Maths) result for Key Stage 2 was a remarkable 90% compared to a national of 65%. This places Lea Forest Primary Academy in the top 5% best performing schools across England.
Teamwork is a strong theme that runs throughout our school. Effective primary education is a partnership between children, staff and parents. We look forward to working with you to ensure your child is valued as an individual and has a safe, happy and successful time with us. We are committed to all aspects of education and development, encouraging families to work in partnership with us to realise our aim, of successfully helping each and every child to achieve their full potential and live remarkable lives.
Our school is a very busy place with many enriching events for the children and their families. We continually evaluate what we do in order to give the children the very best education. Our recent parent survey showed that the majority of our parents would recommend Lea Forest to other parents, which we are delighted with. As partners, we want all parents to be involved in school life on a daily basis.
We hope that our website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages provide you with the information you require. You are always welcome to arrange a visit and the children would be delighted to show you what makes Lea Forest such an exceptional and rewarding school experience.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
