Lea Forest Primary Academy and Glebe Farm Public Library have worked closely together to promote the 'Summer Reading Challenge' to our pupils. This national, free event encourages 'Reading for Pleasure' and helps the pupils retain their literacy skills during the summer break.

This year’s challenge is called ‘The Mythical Maze’ and to complete it the pupils challenge themselves to read 6 library books of their choice and either write 6 reviews or draw 6 pictures based on the books. Your child can sign up for this at your local public library from 14 July 2014. Children will be able to collect rewards along the way. PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILDREN TO JOIN THE CHALLENGE AND MAKE LEA FOREST THE MOST REPRESENTED SCHOOL IN THE AREA! Those children who complete the challenge are invited to a special awards celebration organised by the public library. The local libraries in this area are:

Wedding congratulations to the following members of staff who have got married and changed their name. Miss Hussey is now Mrs Smith and Miss Bevan is now Mrs Jeacock.

Goodbye and Hello!

We say ‘goodbye’ to Miss McGurk (Year 3) leaving us in July, who we will sadly miss but wish her the best of luck for the future. We are also saying goodbye to Mr Slater who has worked as a lunch time supervisor and cleaner at the academy.

Lea Forest Primary Academy would like to ‘welcome’ the following new teachers Miss Kenny (Reception), Miss Evans (Year 1), Miss Rose (Year 1), Miss Richardson (Year 3) and Miss Lawson (Year 5).

We look forward to working together and know they will make a wonderful addition to the fantastic team of staff we already have.
