Cycling to school reminder

posted 29 Sep 2016, 16:23 by J Croxon

It is lovely to see our new bicycle sheds being used by the children. We are hoping to move them to their permanent location in school later this term, when the ground has been cleared and prepared. Please can I remind you that bicycles are left on school premises at your own risk and that school cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss. Please ensure your child’s bicycle is locked at all times.

For your child’s safety ALL CHILDREN RIDING TO SCHOOL MUST WEAR A CYCLE HELMET. From Monday 3 October no child will be allowed to ride home unless they have a helmet. Parents of children arriving on their bikes without a helmet will be contacted and the bikes will be stored securely in school until a helmet has been provided.

The children have settled in very quickly this term. To continue to support the school values and our drive for independence, please can we ask all of the Parents or Carers of children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 to leave their children at the top end of the playground by the gate every morning.

If you need to speak to a teacher, a member of staff will be on the gates every morning.

A Message from Mrs Thompson

Dear Parents / Carers

It is hard to believe that another year has passed and we are about to say goodbye to this years Year 6 cohort. Despite the incredibly sad time in the Autumn term following the tragic death of Mr Bowden this has been another busy and rewarding year for Lea Forest Academy. Dave Bowden is still missed by us all particularly during the end of term Year 6 celebrations.

This year has seen the birth of the Lea Forest Choir. Their achievement this year has been fantastic. Well done to you all. We have also been very busy on the sports field entering a record number of sports events. Our children always represent the academy really positively showing great sportsmanship and behaviour whilst having a real determination to do their best. We have had so many successes from the boys and girls teams we've entered this year.

Visitors to the academy continue to congratulate us on your children. Their manners and behaviour around school impress visitors and demonstrates the Lea Forest Vision and Values daily. You should all be very proud of your children.

Our best wishes go to all pupils and staff who are leaving us on Friday to embark on a new and exciting journey at their new school or in their new job. We will miss you all.

I hope you all have a wonderful, enjoyable and safe Summer holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back in the Academy on Wednesday 7 September.

Mrs Thompson, Head Teacher
