We have collected over 4500 Sainsbury's Active Kids Vouchers 2013. Please keep asking your friends and family to support the academy by collecting the vouchers when they shop at Sainsbury's and sending them into the academy. Help us to get some fantastic new PE and Sports equipment.

Staff from Glebe Farm Public Library did a fantastic assembly today to launch the 'Summer Reading Challenge' which starts tomorrow (23rd July 2013). This year's challenge is called 'Creepy House'; it's free to enter and all you have to do is to visit your local public library to register.

Geoff and Lorraine from Glebe Farm Library delivered a super assembly which included acting, fancy dress and lots of music including a 'Creepy House' song. Last year 23 children from Lea Forest Primary Academy completed the 'Summer Reading Challenge' and it would be super if we could beat that target this year. So .... in the words of Tess and Bruce, please encourage all our children to 'Keep Reading!'.

Dear Parents

It has been another positive year for the school as we converted to Lea Forest Academy in December 2012 and began the first leg of another new journey. We have continued to raise standards with 63% Level 4 combined at Key Stage 2 ensuring we meet the floor targets. Progress is now good with our children making better progress than children nationally. The support for the school from yourselves has increased over the years and our reputation has improved in the community.

It is with great sadness that I leave you to take on the next part of the journey but I have every faith that you will continue to improve and achieve the truly great things you are capable of to achieve the recognition and praise that is deserved.

In order to achieve this the Governors have approached Topcliffe Primary School, to create a unique partnership...[Read More]

Yr 6 Netball team blast through to Birmingham School Games Final

posted 2 Aug 2013, 13:22 by Web Admin [ updated 2 Aug 2013, 13:22 ]

On Monday afternoon Mr Haw took 10 children from Year 6 to International School to compete in the School Games competition. We drew against Timberley 1-1, we beat Yardley 7-0 and then in a nail-biting match we drew against Holy Souls! This took us into 'golden goal' extra time, which we won after a very exciting and intense performance!

The finals are on Wednesday 27th March. We need to find our best possible team next week as the finals are likely to be even more competitive. Follow our progress during the day on Twitter.

Lea Forest Academy have been given some free tickets for local attractions. We have decided to do a whole school raffle so that we can raise money for new playground equipment. Prefects will be selling raffle tickets in classrooms on Monday and Tuesday and will cost £1.00. Mrs Tarrant will also sell raffle tickets at break times from her room.

Prizes include:

Cadbury World – 2 adults and 2 children,

Safari Park 1 adult and 1 child,

Hatton Farm – 2 free admissions

Ash End Farm – 2 adults and 2 children.

The draw will take place during the last week of this term.

Winners will be able to choose the prize they want.

Help us to raise funds to improve the academy.
