The sketch notes sheet is a way to visually share key ideas and information from what you have learned about The Outsiders. When you create your note sheet, you are trying to use both visual symbols and important words to clearly and concisely share your most important takeaways with someone else.
2- Every person needs to have a job to complete your sheet.
-Pick an slip from the bucket in the center of your table. Read the topic to your group and discuss for a couple of minutes. When you're done talking your group will put together a sketch note sheet of an argument. Use your journal to take notes or jot down quotes and ideas for your sketch note sheet.
#1 is the writer or scribe and should come up with the thesis statement and ideas/images to help prove your thesis.
#2 needs to find 2 quotes to prove your thesis.
#3 needs to find a 3rd quote to prove your thesis, and a counter-argument
3- After you come up with your parts you should be able to make your note sheet.
Here’s what it MUST INCLUDE:
Your QUESTION written out at the top- like a headline.
Your NAMES on the back- first and last and your period.
• Your thesis statement, in the OVAL at the top left, with some main points and ideas that help to prove that thesis shown around it in words and, if you wish, images or symbols.
• Three significant quotations that help to prove your thesis, in the three BOXES on the top right
• A point someone might make to show that your thesis is NOT true (a counter-argument) in the TOP dialogue box in the bottom right
• Your response to that counter-argument in the BOTTOM dialogue box in the bottom right
• An image that somehow represents your argument or big ideas in the BOTTOM LEFT.
4- You can all add other symbols, drawings, and words that represent your argument as you wish.

Re-cast the movie The Outsiders using current actors and actresses. Find a picture to insert into the table or describe why they would make a good choice to play the character. DO NOT use the 1983 actors in the roles. Remember how old the characters are in the book while you are recasting.
