Write a short paragraph about what you think about students being able to talk out their problems rather than be punished or suspended. Do you agree or disagree with this solution for schools to help keep students in school? Use examples from the article to support your answer.
STATION THREE: Poetry Reading
1- Take a poem sheet from the make up work folders on the closet door and 3 different colored pencils from the bucket on the black cabinet.
2- Read the poem through 3 times and follow the instructions on the sheet for each time you read through the poem.
3- Each time you read the story use a different color and complete the following:
UNDERLINE themes or lines that give you an idea of what the story is about;
CIRCLE words and phrases that you don’t know or understand;
STAR * imagery and figurative language;
PLUS + to the lines that speak to you or that you like.
4- Fill in the column on the right as you read through each time.
STATION FOUR: Poetry Analysis
1- You need to read through the poem 3x and complete it in THREE DIFFERENT COLORS.
2- Once you are done reading-- on the back of the sheet, write a complete reflection on what you think the poem says about being an OUTSIDER.
