1- You need your Chromebooks and your IRB.
If you do not have these items GET THEM NOW.
2- Sit in the first four tables closest to the comfy chairs.
BELL RINGER:
1- Renew books, borrow books, do your Library business first.
2- Log your new books into the Google Form:
LINK TO LOG IN YOUR INDEPENDENT READING BOOK
3- Take a post-it note, write your Name, your book title, and next week's date: 9/22.
4- Then decide what your NEXT READING GOAL WILL BE.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- I'm going to discuss your IRB Projects. Our first Book Talk day will be 9/22.
2- READ! You can sit in the comfy chairs if you like or on the floor. There is NO TALKING. We're focusing on making our reading goals.
2- IF you have made your reading goal- you need to check in with me and get your Reading Grade for the week.
3- If you have not passed your post-it, you can read for the period and try and make it.
4- You need to get a new reading goal for next week- I'll have post-it's on my table when you come and talk to me.
5- If you finished your book earlier, and put your post-it in your journal, just leave it there.

READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your Chromebooks, your Journals, and your IRB.
If you do not have these items GET THEM NOW.
2- Sit in the formation according to what you need to do today.
STATION ONE: Need to finish yesterday's Stations.
STATION TWO: Need to finish Tuesday's AOW on Newsela or .01 Grades
STATION THREE: All caught up- need to study or finish SS paper.
STATION FOUR: All caught up- need to read to make my reading goal tomorrow.
BELL RINGER:
1- First 10 minutes- Journal writing
Write your Reading Goal Prompt #2 for your
Weekly Reading Journal from the list of prompt choices.
2- On a clean page write: DATE: 9/14/17- Reading Goal Prompt #2 AND the TITLE OF YOUR BOOK
3- You should be writing about your CURRENT IRB. IF you have finished your IRB for this week, write about the book you JUST finished if you have not gotten a new book.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- After the bell ringer- you can put your Journals away and complete one or all of the following:
A- Yesterday's work on the Diary of Anne Frank Stations. You may get a textbook from the back cart to finish your work. When you are done turn it into Google Classroom.
B- Finish your AOW from Tuesday in Newsela.
C- Finish Butterflies if you have not done this. It is a QUIZ grade.
D- Check INow for any missing work, or if you have a .01 that you would like to try and get partial credit for. If you have a zero, the make-up time has passed.
2- If you are DONE WITH EVERYTHING and have no work to clear, then you can study for another class or read your IRB to complete your reading goal for this week.

BELL RINGER:
1- Open the Station Work assignment on Google Classroom.
2- READ THE DIRECTIONS and look through the document.
3- You will do all your station work on this sheet.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- All work for today's stations should be completed on this sheet- you all have your own copy, so just open your document and type directly into it.
2- Use the textbooks at each station to complete the activities below.
3- When your all four stations are complete, turn your document in here on Google Classroom.
4- If you start at Station Four, you need to do Station Three FIRST in order for this to work.
5- If you finish a station early, you can complete other stations you have already started.
6- If you finish ALL stations and have turned in your document, you can finish yesterday's AOW or read your IRB.
IF you do not finish these Stations in class- we will work on them tomorrow in class.

1- Open your Newsela account or Google Classroom and see the article assigned to you.
2- If you have done it before class you will lose 10 points off your score.
3- Read the directions so you know what to do.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Please read the article "Syrian refugees' story mimics struggles by Anne Frank's family 75 years ago" at LEXILE 1050L.
2- You must complete all the ANNOTATIONS assigned by ME. If you read this last year, you must REDO your Annotations included in the text.
3- Take the QUIZ. If you get a 25 it's 5 points, 50 is 10 points, 75 is 15, 100 is 20. Your grade is based on your quiz score.
4- Then write the following comparison contrast response in the WRITE section. It must be a COMPLETE PARAGRAPH. I am asking you to do several things in your paragraph. If you do it all your should write at least 5-8 sentences. "Compare what happened to the Franks to what the Syrian refugees who want to enter the US are going through today. Explain at least one similarity they share with the Franks and one difference they share. Use examples from the article to support your comparison/contrast response."
5- If you have a different prompt, make sure you write about THIS ONE.
6- If you do not follow these directions, you will not be scored. Writing is worth 10 points.
IF you do not finish this assignment in class- it is HOMEWORK. It is due TODAY!
