1- You must have Chromebooks today.
2- Sit in the formation with your research project group. If we need to move desks make it work for the whole class- not just your group.
3- Have your CALENDAR out for stamping.
4- Put everything YOU DO NOT NEED FOR THIS CLASS in the basket under your desk. NOT ON THE FLOOR.
BELL RINGER:
1- If you did not turn in Independent Research sheet yesterday- do this now in Google Classroom.
2- Open the Change the World Blog Project page and read the Blog Instructions.
3- Look at the Sample Blog site.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- If you have not already done so- have one person in your group start a New Google Site and share it with the team.
2- Create individual pages for each person.
3- Start going through the checklist for your blog and set up the pages.
4- Everyone should help put together the Home page (each of you can post your individual websites from the Initial Research document).
5- You all should work together to write the TEAM RATIONALE FOR THE PROJECT. This is when you write about WHY you want to research and help solve this world problem/issue.
6- If you have your solution/action you should add that as well.
7- Also work on your individual pages too.
8- As you work I'll call you up to do your reading check. You can reuse your post-it for next week's reading goal, or you can get a new one from the red basket.

1-If you did not turn in "The Landlady" sheet from yesterday- do this now in Google Classroom. Remember hitting submit turns it in. If you do not do that-- I cannot see it and it is LATE.
2- We'll have a short discussion about the story and the video.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- We'll work on your Initial Research document with your team.
2- If you need to change subtopics or formalize your research topics-- we'll do this today.
3- When you are done with your research-- look at the sample blog and the project page.
4- You and your team need to start creating a Google Site blog in order to build your page for your project.

BELL RINGER:
1- Open the activity sheet in Google Classroom- there is a copy for each of you. Just type directly into it.
2- Answer the Story Reflection question at the top of the page. Write a paragraph and use textual evidence from the story to answer the question.
3- When you are done- read through the rest of the activity sheet while you wait for others to finish.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Mrs. Watts will show you the video version of "The Landlady." Start at 1:02 and End at 23:09.
2- After you watch the video-- complete the rest of the activity sheet.
3- Make sure you TURN IT IN/SUBMIT IT on Google Classroom. It is due TODAY.
4- You can work on your Initial Research Document or Read your IRB if you finish before the class ends.

TODAY IS Tuesday, October 31
READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You must have Chromebooks and your IRBs today.
2- Sit in the front tables or where Mrs. Mims tells you to sit.
BELL RINGER:
1- Take care of library business- renew books, borrow books if you need to.
2- If your name was on the Silent Lunch list on the board-- take care of your overdue book and pay your fines.
3- If you don't know-- CHECK WITH Mrs. Mims.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Mrs. Mims is going to come to your table and walk you through Destiny on your Chromebook- until she comes to your table-- do the following.
2- READ "The Landlady" for class on Wednesday 11/1. It is posted in Google Classroom.
3- When you are done reading the short story-- read your IRB until the bell.

3- Put everything you DO NOT NEED FOR THIS CLASS in the basket under your desk. NOT ON THE FLOOR.
BELL RINGER:
1- Get your World Issues Topic Card from Mrs. Burbridge.
2- If you need to-- look at the brainstorm sheets and decide on a topic you want to work together to research. Your driving question is: How can we work to change the world?
3- Remember- Your topic will have to be something you can
A- RESEARCH,
B- Write opinion pieces on based on your research, and
C- Bring you to a solution that can CHANGE something in our world, school, state,
and community.
3- Once you have your topic and you have decided on what you are going to do-- turn your card into Mrs. Burbridge so she can approve your idea.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Once everyone finishes getting their topics we'll discuss the project requirements.
2- If you get your card done before other groups, open the Initial Research Document on Google Classroom and start working on answering the questions together as a group. 2- Look at Mrs. Burbridge's sample for an idea of how to tackle your research.
3- At some point, we'll talk about the project today.
4- If you and your group finishes: READ "The Landlady" for class on Wednesday 11/1.
