2- Get a peer eval from the black cabinet- YOUR NAME NOT ID # on the line: Report By.
3-Your partner should write THEIR NAME in the 1st Reviewed By slot and hang onto the paper.
NOTE: At each table you will have a NEW PARTNER- on each line they need to write their name on the next Reviewed By slot as you move from table to table.
4- Open a new tab with the daily schedule up so you can refer to the instructions when you need to.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- We are SPEED DATING today with your drafts.
2- Each person takes turns being the Author and the Reviewer at each station-- except the Author Table- here you will just complete the Author boxes on the peer review.
3- At each station you have 7 minutes. THE AUTHOR will read the section of the draft noted on the clipboard for up to 2 minutes. You will read OUT LOUD to your partner. Keep in mind that there are others in the room so keep your voice appropriate for reading to someone directly across from you.
4- During the reading, the REVIEW person should be completing ONE section of the Peer Review- Section 1, Section 2, Section 3, Section 4- or Proofreading the Author's paper-- depending on where you are sitting.
When the Author is done reading-- The Review person should be filling out the Peer Review. You can write in short phrases or sentences. You can discuss this with them if you need to tell them more information.
5- After the reading, the REVIEW person needs to switch roles and read their section.
6- The REVIEW person needs to give their peer review back to the READER when they are done talking. Talk until the timer goes off.
6- After the 5 minutes, you need to find a new partner to read and review at a new table.
7- We should be able to do this 6x. By the end you should have a complete Peer Review sheet done on your essay.
8- You should take the suggestions from your REVIEW person and incorporate them into your writing piece.
