READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your IRBs and your Chromebooks.
2- Sit where you like. You do not need to sit with your reading groups today.
3- Have your CALENDARS OUT ON YOUR TABLES.
BELL RINGER:
1- On today's date in your CALENDAR- write the book you are reading today and the PAGE you are currently starting to read from.
2- Log your Book Club books in-- you can count it in your list, just not as an IRB.
3- REMEMBER- You CANNOT use your Outcast Book Club book for book talks or for the IRB thinking and writing assignment.
4- You do not need to do an Independent Reading Guide for your Outcast Book Club book.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- I'll finish a couple of things about the Outcast Book Club project information.
2- Ask questions if you need to-- that pertain to the Blogs/Project.
3- For the rest of the period-- READ your IRBs or your Outcast Books.
4- You may also work on your Independent Reading Guides.
5- Please do not work on your blogs-- there are a lot of time to work on those.
6- READ.
7- I'll be calling you up to check on your progress on your IRBs- bring your IRB and your calendar with you to see me.

READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your Chromebooks, your Journal, and a pen or pencil.
2- Sit with your reading group.
3- Have your CALENDARS OUT ON YOUR TABLES.
BELL RINGER:
1- Finish your research and writing from yesterday.
2- Make sure you have written a few sentences describing what the book is ABOUT.
3- And make sure you wrote about why you might want to read this book.
4- When you are done with your research, talk with your group and PICK ONE book you want to read.
5- Call me over to stamp your calendars when you are done writing.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- We'll talk about the Outcast Hero Project and look at the Unit calendar.
2- If you and your team know your book and are happy with it-- you can set up your blog pages and start setting up your individual pages.
3- When you are done setting up your pages, call me over to get your calendar stamped for today.

READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your Chromebooks, your Journal, and a pen or pencil.
2- We are headed down to the Library after the bell rings and I make announcements.
3- Sit where you like until we leave-- don't forget your JOURNAL.
4- Once we are in the library you need to sit with 2 or 3 people you can get along with and work with and START THE BELL RINGER.
BELL RINGER:
1- In your Journal- start a new page.
2- Date is 1/23/18
TITLE: OUTCAST HERO BOOKS
3- Find the Outcast Hero Book Club link above, and READ the definition of Outcast and Hero.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- We'll talk about the Outcast Hero Project and look at the Unit calendar.
2- We'll talk about the 10 books listed on the project page.
3- You and your partner will choose 3 books from the list and write them in your journal for your entry today. Leave room to write a short description of the book in your journal.
4- Use the Kirkus Review link on the webpage and search for the book reviews of your three choices.
5- Write a few sentences describing what the book is ABOUT.
6- Then write if you think you might want to read this book and WHY.
7- When you are done with your research, talk with your partner and PICK ONE book you both want to read.
8- If you don't like any of the 3-- go back to the list and look up another book until you find one.
9- When you have chosen a book, find another set of partners to make a group of four.
10- I'll stamp your calendars and your journals when you are done with your research and have narrowed down your choices.

1- Due TODAY 1/23: Finish the Newsela reading from Monday 1/22.2- READ-- Continue reading your Independent Reading Book and working on your IRB Guide at home for homework. You will need your books in class on Thursday 1/25.
Today is Monday, January 22
READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your Chromebooks, your Journal, and a pen or pencil.
2- Sit where you like- choose wisely.
BELL RINGER:
1- Finish the station work you started on Friday.
2- When you are done, bring your Hero's Archetype sheet to me and bring your journals for me to stamp.
3- While you wait for everyone to finish station work, look up the word "outcast" and write the definition down in your journal. You can add it to your Hero's Archetype entries.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Once you are done with your station work from Friday, and finding the definition for "outcast"-- work on the Newsela Article assigned to you in your binder. "Once a top NFL draft pick, he trades helmet and cleats for brush and canvas"
2- Read the article at 1110L, take the quiz, and complete the writing assignment.
3- If you do not finish in class- it is HOMEWORK. Finish it at home or in ETA.
