TODAY IS Thursday, November 9
READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You must have Chromebooks today.
2- Sit in the formation with your research project group. If we need to move desks make it work for the whole class- not just your group.
3- Have your CALENDAR out for stamping-
NO CALENDAR = NO STAMP. GO GET IT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT.
4- Put everything YOU DO NOT NEED FOR THIS CLASS in the basket under your desk. NOT ON THE FLOOR.
BELL RINGER:
Open your brainstorms and work on your Brainstorm Outlines. THEY ARE DUE TODAY!
CLASS ACTIVITY:
We're finishing our Brainstorm Outlines- here is the Sample Outline if you need it.
1- You will be writing a multi-paragraph opinion essay to post on your blog page about your topic for your group's webpage.
2- You will be graded via the 6 +1 Traits on this piece.
3- You will need to have a claim, evidence, and a justification for your writing.
4- This is an OUTLINE to use to start writing your opinion pieces.
5- IF you get your brainstorms done- TURN THEM IN and then start WRITING YOUR OPINION PIECE FOR YOUR BLOG PAGE.
6- Brainstorm Outlines are due TODAY!
****** Remember this is an OUTLINE-- so it is not writing your entire piece, it is getting all the parts together to then write your opinion piece. Do not think that all you have to do is take what you put in this outline and turn it into your blog piece. You will still need to craft an introduction which includes your claim, three paragraphs which include your evidence and your explanation of your evidence, AND a final paragraph which justifies all of your evidence as a conclusion.
This will HELP YOU WRITE YOUR OPINION-- but it NOT the final opinion piece.
DUE THIS WEEK and NEXT:
1) Thursday 11/9- Outlines DUE.
2) Monday 11/13- Last reading check before break. 3) Wednesday 11/15- BLOG PRESENTATIONS- Blogs MUST BE completed (including Opinion Pieces) and Presented in class.
TODAY IS Wednesday, November 8
