Global Scholar Testing

Instructions

You only need your Chromebooks.
Everything else goes into your LOCKER. No leaving anything on my black counter or under your tables.
Please make sure you CELL PHONES ARE OFF and in your Lockers.
If we are taking the Math Scantron test, you can have your calculator and a pen or pencil.
Use the restroom and drink water before the test. There will be no leaving class for ANY reason during testing.

Using Restricted Mode

CHROMEBOOK and CHROMEBOX INFORMATION

Before testing day...

Option 1

Click and then About Chrome OS.
Under Google Chrome OS, click Check for Updates.
If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.
Click restart.

Option 2

In the top right, click on and Settings.
Click on HELP.
Click on on About Chrome OS.
Click Check for Updates
If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.
Click restart.

Do not sign in to the device when it powers on.
In the lower left hand of the screen, click on APPS and then Performance Series Restricted Mode App.

If you do not see the Apps button in the bottom left corner, be sure you are connected to WiFi. Students should be connected to either HCS-Chrome or HCS-BYOD. Click on antenna/WiFi symbol in lower right screen.
If you still do not see the Apps button in the bottom left, check to make sure the device is being managed by hcs-students.net. Click on the bottom right icon to check. It will say This device is managed by hcs-students.net. If it is not, you will need to contact the Technology Department by submitting a work order.

If you have successfully completed #1-3, you should then see this page.
Click Take a Proctored Test.
Enter the Site ID (including dashes).
Enter the Student ID.
Before testing day students can click on the purple Demo Exam test to simulate the testing environment. Do not open any other exam.

On testing day...

TO LAUNCH THE PERFORMANCE SERIES APP

Power off and on the Chromebook.
Do not sign in to the device when it powers on.
In the lower left corner of the screen, click on APPS and then Performance Series, Restricted Mode App.
Click Take a Proctored Test
Enter the Site ID (including dashes).
Enter the Student ID.

5- Confirm your identity

6- Click on the designated test

7- Begin testing

You may not go to the restroom or get up or get anything from your locker. Stay put and read. DO NOT disturb other people still taking the test.

SO there is no talking, no tapping, no standing, no rocking, NOTHING that will draw attention away from people taking A TEST.

If I write your name on the board, you have not done this and you will sit in silent lunch today.
