We'll be using the Writing Rubric to write this essay.
Sample Essay- This essay is more of an analytical essay, but the source citations are correct, as well as the Works Cited.
Using the issue you decided upon using the 10 writing prompts "Argument is about more than English Essays" write your Claim for your Essay and then find 3 pieces of evidence to support your claim, as well as your counter-claim. You will AGAIN use MLA citations (much like you did in all of your Social Studies essays and in the Save the World Projects). You must complete our One-Pager Graphic Organizer by Tuesday 3/5 and your final essay is due Monday 3/11.
Your TOPIC should be written out at the top- like a headline.
Your NAME on the back- first and last and your period.
• IN THE OVAL: Your thesis statement, with some main points and ideas that help to prove that thesis shown around it in words and, if you wish, images or symbols.
• IN THE THREE BOXES on the TOP right: Three significant quotations that help to prove your thesis. Make sure you include MLA citations (author) or if you do not have an author the ("Web Page Title"). You might want bookmark your pages so you can do your works cited later.
•IN THE TWO DIALOGUE BOXES in the BOTTOM right: A point someone might make to show that your thesis is NOT true (a counter-argument). And your response to that counter-argument in the BOTTOM dialogue box in the bottom right
• IN THE BOTTOM LEFT: An image that somehow represents your argument or big ideas. If it is literal, and not symbolic, it needs to make sense.
- You can all add other symbols, drawings, and words that represent your argument as you wish.
6- CLAIMS will be checked 3/1.

6- Make sure you if you QUOTE material you use "quotation marks" and you cite the source directly after your quotation is used.

9- I'll use the Writing Rubric to grade your essay.
How to check if your Works Cited and Internal Parenthetical Citations are correct.
You may use EasyBib.com, but YOU have to make sure the information is still correct when you get the finished citation. MAKE SURE YOU alter the information so that it is correct.
WORKS CITED and INTERNAL CITATIONS
You must create a Works Cited page at the end of your Outline and cite your sources within the text of your outline as well.
Works Cited format should follow these samples:
FOR A BOOK:
Author last name, First name. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, Year of
Publication. PRINT.
FOR A WEBSITE:
Author last name, First name. "Article Title." Website title. Sponsoring
Institution/Publisher, Publication Date. WEB. Date Accessed.
After you have written the Works Cited, tell me within the essay where each source is used. After the sentence(s) taken from your book or article, use quotation marks like the following example:
"In Poland, the concentration camps were brutal," (Klein 45).
In the parenthesis is the author of the website you found the information. This should be done for ALL information taken from your text or web research. If your web article has no author, just use the "Article Title" from the website.
