READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need a IRB Book Talk grading slip and your Journal.
If you do not have these items GET THEM NOW. If there is a textbook on your desk, you do not need to get one.
2- Sit in the formation.
3- PUT EVERYTHING EXCEPT YOUR JOURNAL UNDER YOUR DESK IN THE BASKET. NOT ON THE FLOOR.
4- Sign up for parts on the front board if you would like to read.
If you are not ready to do the Bell Ringer when I enter the room after the bell rings, I will write your name down and after 3x you will be on the D-Log for not being prepared for class. DO THE ABOVE BEFORE THE BELL RINGER. DO NOT MISS.
BELL RINGER:
1- Write your name, period, and the book title of your Book Talk on the form and turn it into the WHITE Turn In Box.
2- Open a new page in your Journal and Title it BOOK TALKS.
3- You need to write each book title down, and 1-2 sentences about what the book is about. Put a Star by the titles you might want to read later.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- After Book Talks--work on IRB Projects.
A. READ.
B. If you need a new book, fill out your agenda to go to the Library- OR look on my bookshelf for a new one.
C. Work on your Book Talk project. Turn it into the Google Classroom link when you are done.
D. Work on your Thinking and Writing Assignment. Turn it into the Google Classroom link when you are done.
We'll finish Anne Frank Act I next week!

During the reading of the play, you need to take notes on the play. These notes will be the only thing you will have to study for the quizzes and the final test.
Note CHARACTERS- who they are, what they do, and how they act with the others.
Note PLOT POINTS- what major events happen in the play, dramatic moments, and sad or happy moments.
At the end of each days reading or each scene-- you'll write a summary of what we read.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Today we'll be reading "The Diary of Anne Frank" from part of the way in Scene 3 and into Scene 4.
2- IF you are absent you can catch up by reading both scenes on your own. There is a PDF and the Audio Book posted on the Anne Frank/Drama Unit Page.
3- TAKE NOTES on characters, their actions, their emotions, and what they do in the play while we read.
4- At the end of the period we'll stop to complete notes and write our summaries.

BELL RINGER:

Write this Title: Understanding History
2- Understanding the history and culture that is the setting for the literature we read is very important if we are to understand what we read. I want you to ask yourself the following questions and answer them in your Journal:
3- Answer each question with 2-3 sentences. Tell me WHY you feel the way you do about each question in your sentences.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- In Google Classroom you'll find a Holocaust Webquest. You can answer the 10 questions directly in the document posted. Just type directly into the document.
2- To visit the site you need to help you answer each question you need to CLICK ON THE QUESTION IN THE DOCUMENT and it will take you to a website.
3- There are 10 questions- you must READ the website page the question takes you to answer the question.
4- Sometimes the answer will not be "right there." Most times you need to read the page and then answer the question with the best answer you have gathered from your research. Do not just cut and paste into your document. Summarize and define correctly.
5- YOU MUST ANSWER IN COMPLETE SENTENCES. If you do not I will return it to you to fix and it will be counted as LATE.
6- This will be graded for accuracy. If you do not finish it is ETA work or Homework.
7- IF you do finish, turn it in and then READ your IRB OR work on your Reading and Thinking Essay for your IRB or work on your VISUAL for Book Talks on Friday 9/22.
