3- Turn in your BHH sheet if you need to. MAKE SURE YOUR NAME and PERIOD is on the top of the sheet.
4- We are reading today- but take a minute to READ THE BELL RINGER.
BELL RINGER:
1- Log your book in if you have not done so already.

2- Read through the IRB Projects on the Independent Reading page.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- We'll discuss the IRB Projects. Please make sure you write down your due dates in your Agendas.
2- We'll watch a few sample projects.
3- Once we're done, you can read until the bell.
4- You need to READ-- no working on Social Studies essays or LA homework.
HOMEWORK
1- Read book #2 and start thinking about what you want to do for your 1st 9 Weeks Projects.
TODAY IS THURSDAY, SEPT. 13
DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your Chromebook-- and your BHH form and your Journal and a pen or pencil if you didn't finish one or both yesterday.
2- Sit in the same seats as yesterday
3- We are doing station work today on your Social Studies essay, so you need to keep your Chromebook. If you did not finish your BHH form or your Journal, you may want to have that as well.
4- Put all your other items on the black counter under the bookshelves.
5- Then sit at your table and READ THROUGH THE STATION INSTRUCTIONS.
BELLRINGER:
1- READ THROUGH THE STATION INSTRUCTIONS.
2- You will have 6 minutes per station.
3- If you finish a station before the timer goes off you can work on another station or finish one you did not get to finish.
4- PLEASE DO NOT WRITE ON THE NUMBER CARDS ON THE CLIPBOARDS. Stop it. It's not a piece of scratch paper.
5- WHEN YOU LEAVE A STATION- make sure the clipboards are in the center and the index/number cards are on TOP of the information checklists. Push your chairs IN!

STATION ONE-Language Arts Station
1- Finish your BHH Sheet, your Journal, or your Newsela at this station.
2- Everything is posted in Google Classroom if you need the instructions.
3- When you are done, please place your completed sheets in the White Turn IN box on the black cabinet.

1- Follow the instructions on the sheet on the clipboard(s).

CLASS ACTIVITY:
STATION ONE- BHH Station
1- Take a sheet from the clipboard and fill it out. You should put your name at the top left, then write The Dance as your "book" and instead of the date, write in your PERIOD.
2- IF you have a sheet you started yesterday, please make sure you complete #1 above.
3- You can use The Dance handouts on your table to finish this.
4- If you need to talk to your neighbors to finish this you may do so quietly. You do NOT need to have page numbers-- but you do need to answer ALL of the question prompts.
5- If you already finished this station you can start Station Two or finish a Station you did not.
6- When you are done, please place your completed sheets in the White Turn IN box on the black cabinet.
STATION TWO- Video Station
1- Watch or read the video about Cultural Appropriation on You Tube until the 5 minute mark (the rest of it are all ads).
2- Turn down the sound if you do not have ear buds- it is captioned so you can read it.
STATION THREE- Journal Station
1- In your Journal find a new page- Date it: 9/12/18. TITLE the top: Cultural Appropriation
2- Write a personal response-- what you think about, how you feel about the video in Station Two.
3- If you start at this station, then watch the video first and then respond when you get to Station Two.
STATION FOUR- Reading Station
1- Read the Newsela article:
STATION FIVE- Newsela Station
1- You will have to read the article in Station Four first to do this station.
2- Take the QUIZ.
3- Write the prompt.
4- Your grade will count in this- Quiz is worth 10 points, Writing is worth 15-- make sure you write a complete paragraph and use 2 pieces of textual evidence from the article in your response.
STATION SIX- Finish any station. If you start here you can do Station Two or Four to get ahead.

1- You need your Journal and a pen or a pencil.
2- If you did not pick cards yesterday to find a new seat- see me for a card. If you did get a new seat yesterday, sit in your same seat-- unless I move you.
BELL RINGER:
1- On your page from yesterday 9/10/18 Notes and questions on "The Dance"
2- Make sure you have a description for Patrick, Susan, Mary, and Max.
3- Make sure you add to your chart today. I will come around and check it off for credit after we finish reading the play.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Once everyone has updated their Journals we'll read the play "The Dance"
2- If you would like to read- sign up for parts on the front board.
3-When we are done reading, you'll have time to work on the BHH sheet to analyze the play.
4- You may help each other out but you MUST write your own answers. Sheets are due before you leave. If you do not finish them, you can complete it for homework.
5- When you are done-- put it in the White Turn In Box.
